Ability to copy bibliographic record to form the base of new record

This feature requires license version 11.3 or later.

Spydus now offers the ability to use an existing bibliographic record as the basis for a new record by using the Copy Record function. This option is displayed in the action bar at the Full Display of a bibliographic record, or under the Tools menu when editing a bibliographic record.

This feature is distinct from the ability to Copy Record/s from the results of an External Search.

When copying a bibliographic record, Spydus will use all details from the source record except the following tags (which will be removed):

001 (Control number/BRN)
003 (Control number identifier/institution code)
005 (Date and time of last transaction)
020, 022, 024, 028 (Identifiers)

Once any required changes have been made, click the Upload button in the action bar. A Load control must be selected, and any matching will be performed as per the configuration of the selected load control.
